Hadith 992
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، عَنْ خَالٍ لَهُ، إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، يُقَالُ لَهُ: يَزِيدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا فِي مَوْقِفٍ لَنَا بِعَرَفَةَ يُبَاعِدُهُ عَمْرٌو مِنْ مَوْقِفِ الْإِمَامِ جِدًّا، فَأَتَانَا ابْنُ مِرْبَعٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ لَنَا: إِنِّي رَسُولُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْكُمْ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَقِفُوا عَلَى مَشَاعِرِكُمْ [ ص: 269 ] هَذِهِ، فَإِنَّكُمْ عَلَى إِرْثٍ مِنْ إِرْثِ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرِّسَالَةِ.
Yazid bin Shaiban said, We were standing at Arafat. Amr described this place as being very far from the place where the Imam stays. Ibn Muraqqa’ Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us and said, I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to you people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commands you to remain at your respective places, because you are inheritors of a legacy from your father Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
