Hadith 969
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيَرَاهُ النَّاسُ، وَلِيُشْرِفَ لَهُمْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ غَشَوْهُ.
It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah) and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah during the Farewell Pilgrimage while riding his camel, so that people could see him and so that he would be above them, because the people had surrounded him.
Hadith 970
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ، وَاسْتَلَمَ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the circumambulation of the Ka'bah on his camel, and touched the Black Stone with his staff.
Hadith 971
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ.
From another chain of narration, it is reported from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the Prophet ﷺ in the same manner.
Hadith 972
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبِالصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ رَاكِبًا فَقُلْتُ: وَلِمَ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي. قَالَ: ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ.
Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah while riding. Ibn Jurayj says: I asked, “Why?” Ata said: “I do not know.” He said: “Then the Prophet (ﷺ) dismounted and prayed two rak’ahs (at the Station of Ibrahim).”
Hadith 973
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَحْوَصِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَطُوفُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ عَلَى حِمَارٍ.
Ahwas bin Hakim narrated that I saw Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) performing Sa'i between Safa and Marwah while riding a donkey.
Hadith 974
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الْقَدَّاحُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ. أَخْرَجَ الْخَمْسَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ، وَالسَّادِسَ مِنْ كِتَابِ مُخْتَصَرِ الْحَجِّ الْكَبِيرِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Tawaf of the Ka'bah while riding his camel, and he would touch the Black Stone with his staff.
