It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah) and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah during the Farewell Pilgrimage while riding his camel, so that people could see him and so that he would be above them, because the people had surrounded him.

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the circumambulation of the Ka'bah on his camel, and touched the Black Stone with his staff.

Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah while riding. Ibn Jurayj says: I asked, “Why?” Ata said: “I do not know.” He said: “Then the Prophet (ﷺ) dismounted and prayed two rak’ahs (at the Station of Ibrahim).”
