Hadith 961
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: أَقِلُّوا الْكَلَامَ فِي الطَّوَافِ؛ فَإِنَّمَا أَنْتُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ.
Tawoos says: I heard Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) saying: "Speak little during Tawaf, for you are in worship like prayer."
Hadith 962
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: طُفْتُ خَلْفَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا فَمَا سَمِعْتُ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا مُتَكَلِّمًا حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ طَوَافِهِ. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ.
It is narrated from Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "I performed Tawaf behind Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and I did not hear any of them speak until they had completed their Tawaf."
