Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he suffered from eye inflammation while in the state of Ihram, he would put drops of aloe in his eyes, and he said: "A Muhrim may apply any kind of kohl for eye inflammation except for perfumed kohl, for that is not permissible even in a normal state without the illness of eye inflammation."

It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked: "Can a person in Ihram smell basil (fragrant herb), oil, and perfume?" He replied: "No."
