Hadith 756
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِنَافِعٍ: أَسَمِعْتَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يُسَمِّي أَشْهُرَ الْحَجِّ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، كَانَ يُسَمِّي شَوَّالًا وَذَا الْقَعْدَةِ وَذَا الْحِجَّةِ، قُلْتُ لِنَافِعٍ: فَإِنَّ أَهَلَّ إِنْسَانٌ بِالْحَجِّ قَبْلَهُنَّ؟ قَالَ: لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْهُ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا.
Ibn Jurayj says: I said to Nafi‘ (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you heard ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) mention the names of the months of Hajj?" Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Yes, he used to mention Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa‘dah, and Dhu al-Hijjah." Ibn Jurayj says: I said to Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him), "What if a man pronounces the Talbiyah for Hajj and enters Ihram before these months?" Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) replied: "I have not heard anything from him regarding this."
Hadith 757
أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمٌ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَسْأَلُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ أَيُهِلُّ بِالْحَجِّ قَبْلَ أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ.
It is narrated from Abu al-Zubair that he heard from Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked about a man who assumes the Ihram for Hajj before the months of Hajj. He replied: No.
