It is narrated from Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him), he reports that he said to Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): Among these camels, there is a blind she-camel. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Is it among the animals of jizya (tax) or among the animals of sadaqah (zakat)? Aslam said: It is among the animals of jizya (tax). He said: It bears the mark of jizya.

The freed slave of Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was with Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), during the summer days, with his wealth in the nearby settlements of Madinah, when he saw a man driving two young camels and walking on the ground like moths due to the intensity of the heat. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What is with this man, why did he not stay in Madinah until it became cooler, then travel? When the man came closer, he said: Look, who is this? I said, a man covering himself with a sheet, driving the young camels. When the man came even closer, he said again: Look! I looked and it was Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). I said, this is the Commander of the Faithful. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and put his head out of the door, but the heat of the wind hurt him, so he pulled his head back in until Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came near. He asked: Why have you come out at this time? Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Two young camels of the charity camels were left behind while the charity camels had already gone ahead. I wanted to bring them to the pasture to join the others. I feared they might get lost and then Allah would question me about them. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Commander of the Faithful! Come to our water and shade (meaning, drink water and rest in the shade). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: You stay in your shade. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We have what you need. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: You stay in your shade. Then he went on. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever wishes to see a trustworthy, strong man, let him look at him. Then Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) returned to us (in the shade) and became absorbed in thought.
