Hadith 681
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَامِعَ بْنَ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ، وَعَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ أَعْيَنَ، سَمِعَا أَبَا وَائِلٍ يُخْبِرُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ إِلَّا مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ يَفِرُّ مِنْهُ، وَهُوَ يَتْبَعُهُ حَتَّى يُطَوِّقَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ" . ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ [آلِ عِمْرَانَ: 180] .
Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: “Whoever does not give the zakat of his wealth, on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into a bald serpent. The man will run from it, and it will chase him until it is made to encircle his neck like a collar.” Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this verse to us: “Soon, on the Day of Resurrection, those things they withheld out of miserliness will be made into collars around their necks.” (Aal-e-Imran: 180)
Hadith 682
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ، مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يَطْلُبُهُ حَتَّى يُمْكِنَهُ يَقُولُ: أَنَا كَنْزُكَ.
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Whoever possesses wealth and does not pay its zakat, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into a bald snake, which will have two spots over its eyes. It will search for him until it finds him and will say, "I am your treasure."
Hadith 683
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ، مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يَطْلُبُهُ حَتَّى يُمْكِنَهُ يَقُولُ: أَنَا كَنْزُكَ. أَخْرَجَ الثَّلَاثَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الزَّكَاةِ.
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Whoever possesses wealth and does not pay its zakat, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into a bald snake with two spots over its eyes. It will seek him out until it finds him and will say, "I am your treasure."
