Hadith 663
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ [ ص: 127 ] رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى النَّاسِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، عَلَى كُلِّ حُرٍّ وَعَبْدٍ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made obligatory the Sadaqat al-Fitr of one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley upon every free person, slave, male, and female among the Muslims.
Hadith 664
أَنْبَأَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى الْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدِ، وَالذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى مِمَّنْ تَمُونُونَ.
Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Zakat al-Fitr obligatory on every free person, slave, man, and woman among those whom you support.
Hadith 665
أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ.
Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we used to give one sa’ of food, or one sa’ of barley, or one sa’ of dates, or one sa’ of raisins as zakat al-fitr.
Hadith 666
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى النَّاسِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made obligatory the Zakat al-Fitr upon the people as one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley.
Hadith 667
أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ: أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ: كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ.
Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we used to give the Zakat of Fitr (Sadaqat al-Fitr) as one sa’ of food, or one sa’ of barley, or one sa’ of dates, or one sa’ of raisins, or one sa’ of cheese.
Hadith 668
أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، سَمِعَ عِيَاضَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ قَالَ: كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ فِي زَمَانِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، فَلَمْ نَزَلْ نُخْرِجُهُ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ مُعَاوِيَةُ حَاجًّا أَوْ مُعْتَمِرًا، فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ فَكَانَ فِيمَا كَلَّمَ النَّاسَ بِهِ أَنْ قَالَ: إِنِّي أَرَى مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ سَمْرَاءِ الشَّامِ تَعْدِلُ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَأَخَذَ النَّاسُ بِذَلِكَ. قَالَ الْأَصَمُّ: وَإِنَّمَا أَخْرَجْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَخْبَارَ كُلَّهَا وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مُعَادَةَ الْأَسَانِيدِ؛ لِأَنَّهَا بِلَفْظٍ آخَرَ وَفِيهَا زِيَادَةٌ وَنُقْصَانٌ.
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, we used to give one sa' of food, or one sa' of raisins, or one sa' of cheese, or one sa' of dates, or one sa' of barley as zakat al-fitr. We continued to give this until Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came for Hajj or 'Umrah, delivered a sermon to the people, and among what he said to them was: "In my opinion, two mudd of wheat from Syria are equal to one sa' of dates." Then the people adopted this method.
Hadith 669
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ: أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ لَا يُخْرِجُ فِي زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ إِلَّا التَّمْرَ إِلَّا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِنَّهُ أَخْرَجَ شَعِيرًا.
It is narrated from Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to give dates as Sadaqat al-Fitr, except on one occasion when he gave barley.
Hadith 670
حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ [ ص: 130 ] أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ: كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ. أَخْرَجَ السَّبْعَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالثَّامِنَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ.
Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we used to give one sa’ of food, one sa’ of barley, one sa’ of dates, one sa’ of raisins, and one sa’ of cheese as Sadaqat al-Fitr.
