It is narrated from Sayyida Hafsa and Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them) that they narrate from the Noble Prophet ﷺ that both of them (Hafsa and Aisha, may Allah be pleased with them) began the morning in a state of fasting. During the day, something was gifted to them, so both of them broke their fast, and they mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ. He ﷺ said: "Both of you should make up the fast of today on another day." Ibn Jurayj (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him): Did you hear this from Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him)? He said: No, rather, a man standing at the door of Abdul Malik bin Marwan or a man from the gathering of Abdul Malik bin Marwan informed me of this.
