Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man (in the plain of Arafah) fell from his mount, was trampled, and died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bathe him with water and lote tree leaves, shroud him in his two garments, and do not cover his head.

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Cover his face and do not cover his head, nor apply perfume to him, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection saying "Labbayk."

It is narrated from Ibn Shihab (may Allah be pleased with him) that Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) did the same (with the one who died in the state of Ihram).
