It is narrated from Abdullah bin Waqid bin Abdullah that he reports: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade eating the meat of sacrifice after three days. Abdullah bin Abi Bakr says: I mentioned this to Amrah, and she said: Abdullah bin Waqid has spoken the truth. I heard Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) say: "During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, some people from among the Bedouins came (to Medina) at the time of sacrifice, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Store it for three days and give the rest in charity." Aisha further narrates: After that, it was said, O Messenger of Allah, people used to benefit from their sacrifices, collect its fat, and make water skins from it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "So what happened now?" or he said something similar. The companions said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you forbade eating the meat of sacrifice after three days. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I forbade you from eating the meat of sacrifice because some people had come from outside at the time of sacrifice. Now eat, store, and also give in charity."
