It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon one day and recited: “Indeed, all praise is for Allah, we seek help from Him and seek His forgiveness, and we seek guidance from Him, and we seek help from Him. And we seek refuge in Him from the evils of our souls and from our bad deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can misguide him, and whomever He lets go astray, there is no guide for him. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has attained guidance, and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has gone astray until he returns to the command of Allah.”

Amr narrates that the Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon one day, and in his sermon he said: “Be aware, the world is an offering from which both the good and the bad eat. Be aware, indeed the Hereafter is a true promise in which the All-Powerful King will judge. Be aware! Goodness (with all its parts) is in Paradise, and evil in its entirety is in Hell. Be aware! Know that you are at a fixed measure with Allah, and be certain that you will be presented with your deeds. Whoever has done an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever has done an atom’s weight of evil will (also) see it.”

It is narrated from ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him), he states that a man delivered a sermon before the Prophet ﷺ and said: “Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has found guidance, and whoever disobeys both of them has gone astray.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Be quiet, you are a bad orator.” Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (delivered the sermon and) said: “Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has found guidance, and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger ﷺ has gone astray.” Then he said to that man: “Do not say: ‘whoever disobeys both of them.’”
