It is narrated from Nafi‘ that when he traveled a distance of one barid with Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he (Ibn ‘Umar) would not shorten the prayer during that journey.

It is narrated from Ata bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he states: I asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), "Should I shorten the prayer until Arafah?" He replied, "No, rather until Jeddah, Usfan, and Taif; and if you come with your family or on foot, then pray in full." Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says: And this is also the statement of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and we will act upon it.
