Hadith 297
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ: أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ اعْتَزَلَ بِمِنًى فِي قِتَالِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، وَالْحَجَّاجُ بِمِنًى فَصَلَّى مَعَ الْحَجَّاجِ.
It is narrated from Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that at the time of the martyrdom of Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went aside to Mina. When Hajjaj was in Mina, he (Ibn Umar) performed prayer under the leadership of Hajjaj.
Hadith 298
حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ: أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ كَانَا يُصَلِّيَانِ خَلْفَ مَرْوَانَ قَالَ: فَقَالَ أَمَا كَانَ يُصَلِّيَانِ إِذَا رَجَعَا إِلَى مَنَازِلِهِمَا؟ فَقَالَ: لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا كَانَا يَزِيدَانِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْأَئِمَّةِ. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْإِمَامَةِ.
It is narrated from Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) that Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to pray behind Marwan. Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says, Hatim bin Isma'il asked: "Did they not come to their homes and (repeat) the prayer?" So Ja'far (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "No, by Allah, they did not add to the prayer of the imams."
