Hadith 230
حَدَّثَنَا الْأَصَمُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الْبُوَيْطِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْهُذَلِيِّ، [ ص: 272 ] عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِذَا رَكَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَقَالَ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَقَدْ تَمَّ رُكُوعُهُ وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَقَالَ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَقَدْ تَمَّ سُجُودُهُ وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ .
It is narrated from Awn bin Abdullah bin Uqbah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When any one of you bows (in ruku') and recites ﴿Subhana Rabbiyal 'Azim﴾ three times, his ruku' is complete, and this is the minimum. And when he prostrates (in sujud) and recites ﴿Subhana Rabbiyal A'la﴾ three times, his sujud is complete, and this is the minimum."
Hadith 231
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ قَالَ: "اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ سَجَدْتُ وَلَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَأَنْتَ رَبِّي، سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ" .
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed prostration, he would say: "O Allah! For You I have prostrated, and to You I have submitted, and in You I have believed, and You alone are my Lord. My face has prostrated to the One who created it and fashioned its hearing and sight. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators."
Hadith 232
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: جَاءَتِ [ ص: 273 ] الْحَطَّابَةُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا لَا نَزَالُ سَفَرًا كَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ بِالصَّلَاةِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "ثَلَاثَ تَسْبِيحَاتٍ رُكُوعًا، وَثَلَاثَ تَسْبِيحَاتٍ سُجُودًا" .
It is narrated from Muhammad (al-Baqir), may Allah have mercy on him, that people who collected firewood came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah! We are always on a journey, what should we do about the prayer? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Recite three tasbihs in the bowing (ruku‘) and three tasbihs in the prostration (sajdah)."
Hadith 233
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْهُذَلِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِذَا رَكَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَقَالَ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَدْ تَمَّ رُكُوعُهُ وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَدْ تَمَّ سُجُودُهُ وَذَلِكَ أَدْنَاهُ .

Hadith 234
قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَاجْبُرْنِي. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ اسْتِقْبَالِ الْقِبْلَةِ، وَالثَّالِثَ وَالرَّابِعَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْأَمَالِي، وَالْخَامِسَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اخْتِلَافِ عَلِيٍّ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يَسْمَعِ الرَّبِيعُ مِنَ الشَّافِعِيِّ.
It is narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to recite between the two prostrations: "O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and remove my shortcomings."
