Hadith 93
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ امْرَأَةُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ، هَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ مِنْ غُسْلٍ إِذَا هِيَ احْتَلَمَتْ؟ قَالَ: "نَعَمْ، إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ" .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Abu Talhah, came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! Allah is not shy of the truth. Is it obligatory for a woman to perform ghusl when she has a wet dream?" He replied: "Yes, when she sees the fluid."
Hadith 94
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زُبَيْدِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى الْجُرْفِ، فَنَظَرَ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَدِ احْتَلَمَ، وَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَغْتَسِلْ، فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَانِي إِلَّا قَدِ احْتَلَمْتُ وَمَا شَعَرْتُ، وَصَلَّيْتُ وَمَا اغْتَسَلْتُ. قَالَ: فَاغْتَسَلَ وَغَسَلَ مَا رَأَى فِي ثَوْبِهِ، وَنَضَحَ مَا لَمْ يَرَ، وَأَذَّنَ وَأَقَامَ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بَعْدَ ارْتِفَاعِ الضُّحَى مُتَمَكِّنًا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْوُضُوءِ.
It is narrated from Zubayd bin Salat that he reports: I went with Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) towards Juruf. He saw that he had experienced a wet dream and had performed the prayer without taking a bath. So he said: "By Allah, I do not know that I was in a state of janabah, and I did not take a bath and performed the prayer." Zubayd says: He then took a bath and washed the part of the garment where semen was visible, and where it was not visible, he sprinkled water. He gave the adhan and iqamah, and after the sun had risen high, he performed the prayer.
