Hadith 55
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "لَوْلَاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَاَمَرْتُهُمْ بِتَأْخِيرِ الْعِشَاءِ وَالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ" .
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I did not fear hardship and difficulty for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay the ‘Isha prayer and to use the miswak with every prayer."
Hadith 56
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "السِّوَاكُ مُطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ" . أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْوُضُوءِ.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The miswak purifies the mouth and is a means of the Lord's pleasure."
