Hadith 51
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هَاشِمٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبِرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ وَفْدَ بَنِي الْمُنْتَفِقِ، أَوْ فِي وَفْدِ بَنِي الْمُنْتَفِقِ، فَأَتَيْنَاهُ فَلَمْ نُصَادِفْهُ، وَصَادَفْنَا عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، فَأَتَتْنَا بِقِنَاعٍ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ وَالْقِنَاعُ: الطَّبَقُ وَأَمَرَتْ لَنَا بِخَزِيرَةٍ فَصُنِعَتْ، ثُمَّ أَكَلْنَا، فَلَمْ نَلْبَثْ أَنْ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: "هَلْ أَكَلْتُمْ شَيْئًا؟ هَلْ أُمِرَ لَكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ؟" فَقُلْنَا: نَعَمْ، فَلَمْ نَلْبَثْ أَنْ دَفَعَ الرَّاعِي غَنَمَهُ، فَإِذَا شَاةٌ تَيْعِرُ، فَقَالَ: هِيهِ يَا فُلَانُ مَا وَلَّدْتَ؟ قَالَ: بَهْمَةً، قَالَ: "فَاذْبَحْ لَنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً" ، ثُمَّ انْحَرَفَ إِلَيَّ، فَقَالَ: لَا [ ص: 174 ] تَحْسَبَنَّ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ أَنَّا مِنْ أَجْلِكَ ذَبَحْنَاهَا، لَنَا غَنَمٌ مِائَةٌ لَا نُرِيدُ أَنْ تَزِيدَ، فَإِذَا وَلَّدَ الرَّاعِي بَهْمَةً ذَبَحْنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّ لِي امْرَأَةً فِي لِسَانِهَا شَيْءٌ، يَعْنِي: الْبَذَاءَ، فَقَالَ: "طَلِّقْهَا" ، قُلْتُ: إِنَّ لِي مِنْهَا وَلَدًا وَلَهَا صُحْبَةٌ، قَالَ: فَمُرْهَا، يَقُولُ: عِظْهَا فَإِنْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَسَتَقْبَلُ، وَلَا تَضْرِبَنَّ ظَعِينَتَكَ ضَرْبَكَ أُمَيَّتَكَ . قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ، قَالَ: "أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ، وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ الْأَصَابِعِ، وَبَالِغْ فِي الِاسْتِنْشَاقِ، إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا" .
It is narrated from Laqeet bin Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was among the delegation of Banu Al-Muntafiq. We came to the Prophet ﷺ but could not meet him. We encountered Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), so she sent us dates in a vessel made of palm leaves and ordered that small pieces of meat be cooked for us. The meat was cooked, and then we ate. We stayed for a while, and then the Prophet ﷺ also arrived. He said: “Have you eaten anything? Was anything brought for you?” We said: Yes. After a short while, a shepherd drove some goats, and among them, one goat was crying. The Prophet ﷺ said: “O so-and-so! What has the goat given birth to?” The shepherd said: “A kid.” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Slaughter a goat in its place for us.” Then the Prophet ﷺ turned to me and said: “Do not think that we slaughtered this animal for you. We have a hundred goats; we do not want them to increase. When one goat gives birth, we slaughter another in its place.” Laqeet bin Sabrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! My wife has a bad tongue. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Divorce her.” I said: I have spent time with her and I have children from her. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Advise her; if there is good in her, she will accept it. And do not beat your wife like a slave-girl.” I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Tell me about ablution (wudu)? The Prophet ﷺ said: “Perform ablution thoroughly, pass your fingers between the fingers, and rinse your nose well except when you are fasting.”
Hadith 52
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ بَشِيرِ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ سَبَلَانَ مَوْلَى النَّصْرِيِّينَ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، وَكَانَتْ تَخْرُجُ بِأَبِي حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ بِهَا. قَالَ: فَأُتِيَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ بِوَضُوءٍ. فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ" .
Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that we set out for Makkah with Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and she used to set out with my father and also used to pray with him. Salim says that water for ablution was brought for Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), so Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Abdur Rahman, complete the ablution thoroughly. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Woe to the heels from the fire on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 53
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ" . أَخْرَجَ الْأَوَّلَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْوُضُوءِ، وَالثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said to her (brother) Abdur Rahman: O Abdur Rahman, perform ablution thoroughly! I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "Woe to the heels from the fire."
