Hadith 17
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مَيْتَةٍ قَدْ كَانَ أَعْطَاهَا مَوْلَاةً لِمَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "فَهَلَّا انْتَفَعْتُمْ بِجِلْدِهَا" . قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ قَالَ: "إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا" .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet ﷺ passed by a dead goat which he ﷺ had given to the freed slave woman of Umm al-Mu’minin Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). He ﷺ said: “Why did you not benefit from its skin?” The people said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! It is dead. He ﷺ said: “Only its eating has been forbidden.”
Hadith 18
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ وَعْلَةَ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "أَيُّمَا إِهَابٍ دُبِغَ فَقَدْ طَهُرَ" .
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "Any hide that is tanned becomes pure."
Hadith 19
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ قُسَيْطٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ أَنْ يُسْتَمْتَعَ بِجُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ إِذَا دُبِغَتْ. أَخْرَجَ الثَّلَاثَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْوُضُوءِ.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed to benefit from the hide of a dead animal after tanning it.
