أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ: أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ قَتَلَ ابْنٌ لَهُ حَمَامَةً، فَجَاءَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: تَذْبَحُ شَاةً فَتَصَدَّقُ بِهَا، قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: فَقُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَمِنْ حَمَامِ مَكَّةَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
It is narrated from Ata that the son of Uthman bin Abdullah bin Humaid killed a pigeon. He came to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and mentioned this matter to him, so Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "Slaughter a goat and give it in charity." Ibn Jurayj said: I asked Ata, "Was it from the pigeons of Makkah?" He replied, "Yes."
