أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، وَغَيْرُهُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ سِعَايَتِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ يَا عَلِيُّ" ؟ فَقَالَ: بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ: "فَأَهْدِ وَامْكُثْ حَرَامًا كَمَا أَنْتَ" . قَالَ: فَأَهْدَى لَهُ عَلِيٌّ هَدْيًا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ، وَالثَّالِثَ وَالرَّابِعَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اخْتِلَافِ عَلِيٍّ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يَسْمَعِ الرَّبِيعُ مِنَ الشَّافِعِيِّ، وَالْخَامِسَ وَالسَّادِسَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ.
Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that when Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, finished collecting the charities and came (to Mecca), the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him: "O Ali! For what have you entered into Ihram?" He replied: "For that which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has entered into Ihram." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Then offer a sacrifice, and remain in your state of Ihram."
