أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ: أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَمْ يُوَقِّتْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ شَيْئًا فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ بِحِيَالِ قَرْنٍ ذَاتَ عِرْقٍ. أَخْرَجَ الْأَحَدَ عَشَرَ حَدِيثًا مِنْ كِتَابِ الْمَنَاسِكِ.
Abu Al-Sha’tha’ says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not appoint any miqat for the people of the east; it was the people who, based on Qarn, designated Dhat ‘Irq.
