أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: مَا عَلِمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَامَ يَوْمًا يَتَحَرَّى صِيَامَهُ عَلَى الْأَيَّامِ إِلَّا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ، يَعْنِي: يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ. أَخْرَجَ السِّتَّةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I do not know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) specifically intended to fast on any day other than the Day of Ashura.
