أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ" . أَخْرَجَ الْأَوَّلَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَالثَّانِيَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْحَجِّ مِنَ الْأَمَالِي.
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The best of your clothes are the white ones; let your living wear them and shroud your dead in them."
