Narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she states that during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, people were afflicted with severe famine. A Jew passed by them and said: "If your companion (Muhammad ﷺ) wishes, as much rain as you want can be sent down upon you, but he does not like that rain should fall upon you." The Prophet ﷺ was informed of the Jew's statement, so he said: "Did he say this?" The companions said: "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said: "I will seek help for the people of Najd in this famine, and I see that clouds are coming out from Aden, which I dislike. On such-and-such day, I promise you, I will supplicate for rain for you." He said: When that day came, the people gathered early in the morning, and they had not yet dispersed when it began to rain, and then it continued to rain for a whole week.
