It is narrated from Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him): "What would the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recite in the prayers of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr?" He replied: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite: ﴿Qaf, and the Glorious Qur'an﴾ and ﴿The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split﴾."
