Hadith 488

أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ الْأَضْحَى وَالْفِطْرَ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، فَكَبَّرَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى سَبْعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ خَمْسَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ.
It is narrated from Nafi’, the freed slave of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: I attended the Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr prayers with Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said seven takbirs before the recitation in the first rak’ah and five takbirs before the recitation in the second rak’ah.
