Hadith 478

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحُوَيْرِثِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتَبَ إِلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ وَهُوَ بِنَجْرَانَ: "أَنْ عَجِّلِ الْأَضَاحِيَ وَأَخِّرِ الْفِطْرَ وَذَكِّرِ النَّاسَ" .
Abu Huwaireth reports that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote a letter to Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was at Najran, saying: "Offer the Eid al-Adha prayer early and the Eid al-Fitr prayer with some delay, and also admonish and advise the people."
