Hadith 407

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَطْمِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي وَائِلٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "تَجِبُ الْجُمُعَةُ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ إِلَّا امْرَأَةً أَوْ صَبِيًّا أَوْ مَمْلُوكًا" .
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ka'b (may Allah have mercy on him) that he heard from a man among the descendants of Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Friday (prayer) is obligatory upon every Muslim except a woman, a child, and a slave."
