Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in the ‘Asr prayer. He ended the prayer with salam after two rak‘ahs, so Dhu’l-Yadayn stood up and asked: “O Messenger of Allah! Has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?” The Prophet (ﷺ) turned (to the people for confirmation) and asked: “Is Dhu’l-Yadayn speaking the truth?” The people said: “Yes.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then completed the remainder of the prayer, and after the salam, performed two prostrations while sitting.
