أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فِي مَرَضِهِ، فَأَتَى أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، فَاسْتَأْخَرَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ كَمَا أَنْتَ، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُصَلِّي بِصَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ.
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out during his illness and went to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was standing and leading the people in prayer. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) began to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) signaled to him to remain as he was standing. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down beside Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while the people were following Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).
