Hadith 223

It is narrated from Nu'man bin Murrah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What do you say about the drunkard, the adulterer, and the thief?" And this statement was before the revelation of the prescribed punishments for these crimes. The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "These are evils and there is punishment for them, and the worst thief is the one who steals from the prayer." Then the hadith continues further.
