أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَلَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ كَمَا أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى، ثُمَّ لِيُكَبِّرْ، فَإِنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ قَرَأَ بِهِ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى، وَلْيُكَبِّرْ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعْ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ رَاكِعًا، ثُمَّ لِيَقُمْ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَسْجُدْ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ سَاجِدًا، ثُمَّ لِيَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهُ فَلْيَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ جَالِسًا، فَمَنْ نَقَصَ مِنْ هَذَا فَإِنَّمَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ.
It is narrated from Rifaa bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "When any of you stands for prayer, he should perform ablution as Allah has commanded him, then say the takbeer, and if he knows any Qur'an, he should recite from it, and if he does not know anything from the Qur'an, then he should praise Allah, and say Allahu Akbar and bow in rukoo' until he is at ease in rukoo', then stand up until he is at ease standing, then prostrate until he is at ease in prostration, then raise his head and sit until he is at ease sitting. Whoever falls short in this has indeed fallen short in his prayer."
