أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو مَوْلَى الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَا تَرَكْتُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ إِلَّا وَقَدْ أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ، وَلَا تَرَكْتُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا نَهَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا وَقَدْ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ، وَإِنَّ الرُّوحَ الْأَمِينَ قَدْ نَفَثَ فِي رُوعِي أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ تَمُوتُ نَفْسٌ حَتَّى تَسْتَوْفِيَ رِزْقَهَا فَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ" . أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرِّسَالَةِ.
It is narrated from Amr bin Abu Amr, the freed slave of Matlib bin Hatab, that the Prophet ﷺ said: "I have not left anything that Allah has commanded you to do except that I have commanded you to do it, and I have not left anything that Allah has forbidden you from except that I have also forbidden you from it. And indeed, the Trustworthy Spirit (Jibreel عليه السلام) has inspired this into my heart: when death comes to anyone, his sustenance has already been completed. Therefore, do not strive for the world with a broken heart."
