أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْسَلًا. قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: الْأَرِيكَةُ: السَّرِيرُ.
Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) informed us, he said: Muhammad bin Munkadir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to me this same hadith as mursal from the Prophet ﷺ. Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: By "al-areekah" is meant "sarir" (bed/couch).
