It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out during his (last) illness and delivered a sermon. He praised and glorified Allah, then said: "The Ansar have fulfilled the responsibilities that were upon them, and their reward is still due upon you. Therefore, appreciate the good deeds of their virtuous ones and overlook the mistakes of their wrongdoers." Jurjani, in his narration, said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Forgive the Ansar, and the sons of the Ansar, and the sons of the sons of the Ansar." And in his narration, he said that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out, the women and children of the Ansar gathered around him, so he showed kindness to them, then delivered a sermon and said these things.
