أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا أَنْزِعُ عَلَى بِئْرٍ أَسْتَقِي، قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: يَعْنِي فِي النَّوْمِ وَرُؤْيَا الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَحْيٌ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَجَاءَ ابْنُ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ فَنَزَعَ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ ذَنُوبَيْنِ وَفِيهِمَا ضَعْفٌ وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَنَزَعَ حَتَّى اسْتَحَالَتْ فِي يَدِهِ غَرْبًا فَضَرَبَ النَّاسُ بَعَطَنٍ، فَلَمْ أَرَ عَبْقَرِيًّا يَفْرِي فَرْيَهُ . [ ص: 55 ] أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ وَفَضَائِلِ قُرَيْشٍ، وَهُوَ آخِرُ حَدِيثٍ فِيهِ.
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "While I was drawing water from a well (standing and pulling up a bucket)." (Imam Shafi'i, may Allah have mercy on him, said: That is, in a dream, and the dreams of the Prophets (peace be upon them) are also revelation.) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then Ibn Abi Quhafa (Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him) came and he drew one or two buckets, and there was some weakness (a short duration) in his drawing; may Allah forgive him. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and he drew (the bucket) until it became a large bucket in his hand, and the people watered their camels from the pool, and I have not seen a strong man like him who could work as hard as he did."
