أَخْبَرَنَا الثِّقَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ مَعْنَاهُ. [ ص: 39 ] قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِمُطَرِّفِ بْنِ مَازِنٍ: أَنَّ يُونُسَ وَابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ رَوَيَا حَدِيثِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ كَمَا وَصَفْتُ، فَلَعَلَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْهُمَا مَعًا.
With another chain of narration, a hadith with the same meaning as the previous one is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ through Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him). Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I mentioned this matter to Mutarrif bin Mazin, that both Yunus and Ibn Ishaq narrated the hadith of Ibn Shihab from Ibn Musayyib. So he said: Ma’mar narrated the hadith to us just as I narrated, and perhaps Ibn Shihab narrated it to both of them at the same time.
