أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا دَوَّنَ الدَّوَاوِينَ، قَالَ: بِمَنْ تَرَوْنَ أَنْ أَبْدَأَ؟ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: ابْدَأْ بِالْأَقْرَبِ فَالْأَقْرَبِ بِكَ، قَالَ: بَلْ أَبْدَأُ بِالْأَقْرَبِ فَالْأَقْرَبِ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. أَخْرَجَ الْأَوَّلَ وَقَوْلَ الشَّافِعِيِّ مِنْ كِتَابِ أَحْكَامِ الْقُرْآنِ، وَالثَّانِيَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرِّسَالَةِ، وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ قَسْمِ الْفَيْءِ، وَهُوَ آخِرُ مَا فِيهِ.
It is narrated from Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ali that when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) organized the registers (for distributing stipends), he said: "In your opinion, with whom should I begin?" He was advised: "Start with your closest relatives." He said: "Rather, I will begin with the closest relatives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)."
