Hadith 1661

أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَضَى فِي الْإِبْهَامِ بِخَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ، وَفِي الَّتِي تَلِيهَا بِعَشَرَةٍ وَفِي الْوُسْطَى بِعَشَرَةٍ، وَفِي الَّتِي تَلِي الْخِنْصِرِ بِتِسْعٍ وَفِي الْخِنْصِرِ بِسِتٍّ.
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) ruled that for the thumb, the compensation is fifteen (camels), for the finger next to the thumb (the index finger), ten, for the middle finger, ten, for the finger next to the little finger, nine, and for the little finger, six (camels as blood money).
