أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانٍ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: أَنَّهُ قَالَ: عَقْلُ الْعَبْدِ فِي ثَمَنِهِ كَجِرَاحِ الْحُرِّ فِي دِيَتِهِ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: وَكَانَ رِجَالٌ سِوَاهُ يَقُولُونَ: يُقَوَّمُ سِلْعَةً. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الصَّيْدِ وَالذَّبَائِحِ.
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, may Allah have mercy on him, that he said: "The blood money (diyah) of a slave is in his value, just as the wound of a free man is in his blood money (diyah)."
