Hadith 1624

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، وَطَاوُسٍ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: وَمُجَاهِدٍ، وَالْحَسَنِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ: "لَا يُقْتَلُ مُؤْمِنٌ بِكَافِرٍ" .
It is narrated from Mujahid and Hasan (may Allah have mercy on them) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said on the day of the conquest of Makkah: "A believer will not be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
