It is narrated from Yahya bin Abdur Rahman bin Hatib that the slaves of Hatib stole a camel belonging to a man from the Muzaina tribe and slaughtered it. This matter was brought before Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), so he ordered Kathir bin Salt to cut off their hands. Then Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I think you should bring them to me. By Allah! I will impose such a fine on you that it will be a hardship for you." Then he asked the man from the Muzaina tribe: "What is the price of your she-camel?" He said: "Four hundred dirhams." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Give him eight hundred dirhams."
