Hadith 1542

أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْجُوَيْرِيَةِ الْجَرْمِيَّ، يَقُولُ: إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ الْعَرَبِ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، وَهُوَ مُسْنَدٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْبَاذِقِ. فَقَالَ: سَبَقَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَاذِقُ وَمَا أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ.
Abu Juwayriyah al-Jurmi says: Indeed, I am the first Arab who asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about Baadhq, and he was sitting reclining against the Ka'bah. He said: "Muhammad ﷺ passed away before the (invention) of Baadhq. Whatever intoxicates is forbidden."
