أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حَنِيفٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: أَشُكُّ، أَقَالَهُ مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، أَوْ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، وَخَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَنَّهُمَا دَخَلَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْتَ [ ص: 236 ] مَيْمُونَةَ فَأُتِيَ بِضَبٍّ مَحْنُوذٍ، فَأَهْوَى إِلَيْهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ بَعْضُ النِّسْوَةِ الَّلَاتِي فِي بَيْتِ مَيْمُونَةَ: أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ: إِنَّهُ ضَبٌّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ. فَقُلْتُ: أَحَرَامٌ هُوَ؟ قَالَ: "لَا، وَلَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِأَرْضِ قَوْمِي، فَأَجِدُنِي أَعَافُهُ" . قَالَ خَالِدٌ: فَاجْتَرَرْتُهُ فَأَكَلْتُهُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُ. أَخْرَجَ الثَّلَاثَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas and Khalid bin Mughira (may Allah be pleased with them) that both of them went with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the house of Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). A roasted lizard was brought before the Prophet (peace be upon him). When he reached out his hand towards it, the women present in the house said: "Tell the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the food you intend to serve him." Then they said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! This is a lizard." So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) withdrew his hand. I asked: "Is it forbidden?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "No, it is not found in our land, so my nature does not incline towards it." Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pulled it towards myself and ate it while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was watching."
