Hadith 1510

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ [ ص: 235 ] رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الضَّبِّ، فَقَالَ: "لَسْتُ آكُلُهُ وَلَا مُحَرِّمُهُ" .
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about the lizard, so he (peace be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor do I declare it unlawful."
