Hadith 1479

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "لَا يَغْلَقُ الرَّهْنُ مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ الَّذِي رَهَنَهُ، لَهُ غُنْمُهُ وَعَلَيْهِ غُرْمُهُ" .
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The mortgaged item will not be withheld from the one who has mortgaged it; its benefit is for him, and he is also responsible for its loss."
