It is narrated from Abu Mas'ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking the price of a dog, the wages of a prostitute, and the offering given to a soothsayer. Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Indeed, the sale of both hunting and non-hunting dogs has been deemed disliked because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the price of a dog."
