Hadith 1422

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى تَذْهَبَ الْعَاهَةُ. قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: فَقُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ: مَتَى ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ: طُلُوعَ الثُّرَيَّا.
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ forbade selling fruits until the fear of calamity has passed. Uthman said, I asked Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, what is that time? He replied, when ripeness becomes apparent.
