Hadith 1411

أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ. وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ: بَيْعُ التَّمْرِ بِالتَّمْرِ كَيْلًا، وَبَيْعُ الْكَرْمِ بِالزَّبِيبِ كَيْلًا.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade Muzabana, and Muzabana is that dates on the tree are sold by measure in exchange for plucked dates, and grapes on the vine are sold by measure in exchange for dried grapes.
